It was a very cold day in Colorado but the sun didn’t give up on shining brightly for the heavy clouds over our heads. I was in your room downstairs, getting ready as you were upstairs getting things together. Minutes later, you then came downstairs and said if I was ready and I said yes. So we went outside and walked up to your car and then noticed there were fishing rods in the backseat of your car. I remember this feeling of happiness and said to you “Awh Benny! But it’s so cold!!” You knew but you said it was a nice day because of the sun was out and all so we continued to go forth with it anyways.
As we were driving there, we started thinking maybe it might be too cold to fish. By the time we got to the place, we saw other people fishing too. We then didn’t feel too too bad about fishing out on a day like this. As cold as it was, we got our fishing rods, and walked around this big lake. I remember setting our things down, the plastic bag with our fake/realistic worms and bait and hooks for our fishing nets. Minutes into settling down, you walked a couple of feet away and started fishing.
Knowing us and our memories, I thought it was great that I brought my fisheye camera. Click. Wind. Click. Wind. Photos of you fishing, walking around - I then thought that I wanted to take a photo of me for you so I decided to take one and this was what became of it.
My heart and mind still wonders if you still have this photo above your change dispenser in your car. That if you say hi to it sometimes when you see it or of it’s stored away. I hope you haven’t forgotten about me because there is not a single second that I don’t think of you.
Missing you every day Benny.
